If you already have your own website and you want to make money from it, you might consider joining an affiliate program.
If you're yet to start up your own website then a good idea would be to get in contact with a web designer who has experience with affiliate marketing.
If you become an affiliate, it means you earn from advertising other merchants products via your website, by putting text links or banners on your site.
Someone who visits your site may click on one of the banners, which takes them to the merchant's website and if they make a purchase you will make a commission on the sale.
Unfortunately you won't make much by simply putting a banner on your website that is of course unless you get thousands of visitors a day.
But just by putting to use a few simple techniques, even the smallest of websites could bring in a decent income.
A first priority would be to link yourself to a merchant whose goods would be bought by the type of visitors you get to your site, there would be no point in advertising dog food when your website is about PC maintenance.
To start with have a look at the 'Commission Junction', one of the good affiliate network directories on the web it won't cost you a penny and nor will it if you link up with one of listed merchants.
From that point on it's very simple, you won't have to be a programming expert to start the process.
Advertising on your site for someone else's goods is a good way of earning an income all you're doing is pointing someone in the right direction and your responsibility ends there.
